Each is designed to maximize production, reduce costs and increase profitability by being the most efficient and reliable in the world:
ALTEK invented the dross press in the early 1990s and at that time had a relationship with a UK company called J M McIntyre, who distributed the ALTEK dross press product. Following this, the TARDIS press was launched by J.McIntyre and the two systems, from the same birthplace, became available in the market. ALTEK acquired the TARDIS business in July 2009, and both the ALTEK and former TARDIS technical teams have been working hard on integrating the two technologies to provide their customers with the very latest dross press technology.read more
ALTEK present the most versatile and cost-effective electromagnetic stirrers (EMS) used for circulating molten metal in a furnace. Air-cooled and high performance stands these machines apart from the competition, optimising induction technology and magneto-hydrodynamics to provide significant productivity increases whilst reducing both fuel consumption and dross generation. For alloying (especially Mg, Mn and Si alloys) ALTEK’s EMS improves yield and chemical composition for high quality metal every melt cycle. Able to be installed on the side, bottom, or back of almost any furnace shape or size, and with the lowest electrical consumption (15 – 35 kWh) these machines have been labelled the Best Available Technology (BAT) in the industry.read more
ALTEK have developed a specialised salt slag press to extract as much aluminium out of slag as possible. Salt slag differs from aluminium dross due to it having a lower aluminium content and a higher temperature when taken out of the furnace. ALTEK’s salt slag press is designed and programmed to match these differing needs so as to maximise aluminium extraction, and therefore saving you money and increasing aluminium recovery.
ALTEK acquired the TARDIS business in July 2009, and both the ALTEK and former TARDIS technical teams have been working hard on integrating the two technologies to provide their customers with the very latest dross press technology, incorporating the best features from both systems coupled with the experience gained from over 350 installations all over the world on all types of furnaces, alloys, dross types etc.
With over 50 references around the world, the TTRF® is considered the most advanced and competitive rotary furnace in the industry with its the short cycle times and the dry flux melting process technology. The ALTEK TTRF® combines the high efficiency of the sealed door Oxy-Fuel burner with the ALTEK-patented control system and furnace design to provide the highest thermal efficiency resulting in the industry’s fastest melt times. Typical cycle times will be three hours or less.
