20 March 2026 - Altek Supporting Chesterfield Community Roast

This week, the Altek Europe team held a savoury bake sale to support Chesterfield Community Roast. From homemade sausage rolls to tasty pastries, the effort and generosity shown by everyone involved were fantastic. We raised over £140 that will help support Chesterfield Community Roast and the vital work they do for people in our local community. A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, and supported the sale – it’s great to see what we can achieve when we come together for a good cause.

The Chesterfield Community Roast Team is a volunteer group that organises a monthly event to serve a cooked Sunday roast for the local community. This initiative originated in 2021 from the idea of reducing isolation, and dedicated efforts from a few individuals have made it a reality. Every month, they gather to cook and serve lunch for approximately 60-90 people.

Regular attendees greatly anticipate these gatherings as it serves as a highlight in their month and provides an opportunity for social interaction. For many, this event is crucial because it may be their only occasion to engage with others. We cater to individuals facing financial difficulties by offering a hot meal, and we also welcome families, those who are socially isolated, people with disabilities, long-term conditions, and individuals dealing with mental health challenges. If any meals are left over, they are delivered to the homeless later in the day.
