01 June 2026 - NorCast 2026 Program Focused On Sustainability Recycling & Advanced Manufacturing
Altek and members of the global aluminium industry are set to focus on some of its most important technical and environmental challenges at the upcoming international casthouse conference in Norway, bringing together experts, engineers and manufacturing specialists from across the aluminium value chain.
The event will feature more than 20 technical presentations covering a broad range of topics including aluminium recycling, metal cleanliness, casting technologies, process optimisation, safety, digitalisation, sustainability and advanced manufacturing. Industry delegates from more than 20 countries are expected to attend the invitation-only conference, creating a platform for knowledge sharing and technical collaboration across the global aluminium sector.
One of the major themes throughout the conference will be sustainability and low-carbon aluminium production. Presentations are expected to explore recycling technologies, circular economy strategies, material recovery systems and methods for improving resource efficiency within aluminium processing operations. These areas continue to attract significant investment as manufacturers work to reduce environmental impact while meeting increasing demand for recycled aluminium products.
Metal quality and process performance will also form a key part of the programme. Technical sessions will examine topics such as grain refinement, metal cleanliness, filtration systems, trace element control and methods for improving casting consistency. Industry experts will discuss approaches designed to enhance product quality while supporting higher production efficiency and reduced waste.
Advanced manufacturing technologies are another major focus. Conference delegates will hear presentations covering automation, process monitoring, predictive intelligence, equipment innovation and emerging Industry 4.0 technologies that are increasingly being integrated into modern aluminium production facilities. These developments are helping manufacturers improve operational control, productivity and long-term process reliability.
The programme also includes discussions on safety, equipment performance and operational best practice within aluminium casthouse environments. Industry panels and technical forums will explore lessons learned from production facilities, helping manufacturers share practical experience and improve operational standards across the sector.
Emerging technologies including additive manufacturing, lightweight material development and aerospace applications are also expected to feature prominently. Technical presentations will examine how aluminium continues to play a critical role in supporting advanced engineering sectors where weight reduction, performance and sustainability remain key priorities.
As global demand grows for sustainable materials and energy-efficient manufacturing, events such as this provide an important opportunity for industry professionals to exchange ideas, explore new technologies and address the challenges facing modern aluminium production.
With recycling, decarbonisation, process innovation and advanced manufacturing remaining high on the industry's agenda, the conference is expected to provide valuable insight into the future direction of aluminium processing and casthouse technology.
